WEB SITE DESIGN & HOSTING -- NAVIGATION
|
|
There are two types of navigation: (1) Site navigation, which takes you to all major
pages of the site, giving access to all subjects-this almost always is found on the
home page, and sometimes on all pages; and (2) ad-hoc navigation, which takes you
directly from page to page within the site. The navigation plan for the site should
be thought through at the start of the project so that, if site navigation is used
on all pages, it can be made a global object that simply is invoked by its name on
every page of the site where you want it. This simplifies making changes or
additions to the menu. In the future, changes are made in only one place--not
on every page.
