Base Station System Requirements

Minimum system requirements for the base station desktop or laptop PC are:

CPU Pentium 4, 1 GHz
Operating System
Windows 2000, XP
Display Resolution 1280 x 1024 pixels, minimum
RAM 128 MB

Barcode

Hard disk size depends on the maximum storage capacity needed for all your recordings. At standard sound quality, approximately 40 MB is required for each hour of sound recording. Thus, a 40 GB drive stores somewhat less than 1,000 hours of sound recording, depending on the amount of storage required by the operating system, other software, and pictures or videos stored.

**

Sessions can be off-loaded to CD-R discs to free hard drive space for new sessions. The Write-n-Record system will automatically add each CD-ROM's contents to its global index, so that off-loaded sessions can still be retrieved by inserting the CD requested.

***
Barcode scanning on the PC is needed for retrieval of session data by scanning barcoded note paper. However, barcode scanning is optional on both the PC and Pocket PC. See options.
